Getting started:

Do I need to have boxed or trained in a boxing gym before?
No experience is needed we have a team of coaches that will get you fit and teach you how to box either for fun or to compete.

How much does it cost to train?     Sessions cost £5 for over 18's and £3 for under 18's.   

Can I pay on arrival using a card/smart phone?
Unfortunately we do not have the technology so cash only on arrival paid at the reception.

What nights can I train?
Sessions are held on Monday,  Wednesday and Friday 18.00-19.30. 

What should I wear?
As long as its sportswear and trainers or boxing boots you can wear anything you like. Posh or grubby it doesnt matter!

What do I need to bring?
Hand wraps are a must & mandatory. We have gloves available to borrow but ideally you may want to buy your own eventually and your own gum shield if sparring. If showering bring own towel as not provided.

Will I get hit?
Only sparring is contact based and if you choose to spar you must have your own gum shield as mandatory. Head guards and supervision/coaching will be provided.


Do I have to box as an amateur or can I just be trained in the gym?
Absolutely yes no issues we have coaches who will accommodate all levels from beginners to elite.

Legal FAQ:

Are the coaches DBS checked and First Aid qualified?
Yes. All DBS checked and first aid trained including defibrillator trained. We have child safeguarding & club welfare.

Do I need insurance to train or box in the gym?
No we have you covered. The Academy is insured and when a boxer is carded to compete they are covered by England boxing.

Are the coaches qualified to coach?
Damn right they are. Level 2 qualified and some are professional qualified having trained not only amateur boxers but professional boxers also.  

General Questions:

Are there Male, Female & Disabled toilets and changing areas?
Yes we have Male, Female & Disabled toilets, changing rooms, showers and locker rooms.

Is there a disabled lift for wheelchair access?
Yes available from the 1st floor to the gym on the ground floor.

Do you provide toiletries?
We do not provide towels but we do provide hand wash and shower gels in toilet and shower areas.
